(August 2, 2009) – Concord, NC – A key board member at the Cabarrus Convention & Visitors Bureau says there is no timetable for replacing DeSales Wagster who abruptly left the agency in May, some five months before her contract was up. Jay White, who is also chairman of the Cabarrus County Commission, says the CVB “board is committed to searching internally and externally, and identifying the best candidates for this position and selecting the person that provides the best leadership.” The CVB is a “financially strong and growing agency successfully bringing more tourism to Cabarrus County that will help our local businesses, hotels, and attractions.” Wagster, who was paid around $100,000 a year when she was hired in 2006, has gone to work for Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord.
