(April 10, 2014) – Cabarrus County, NC –  Just in time for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals and the Mustang Club of America Ford Mustang 50th Birthday Celebration, the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau has released the 2014-2015 Destination Guide, the official travel resource for Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Midland and Mount Pleasant, NC.

This free 71-page publication is a comprehensive resource to the county’s attractions, lodging and shopping options, full-service restaurants, historical sites, sports and recreation facilities and more.

“The content showcases this exciting, diverse destination and tells the story of our area’s heritage while the high-quality cover of this year’s Guide makes it a souvenir keepsake worthy of being displayed on any coffee table,” said Donna Carpenter, President/CEO of the Cabarrus County CVB. “It’s also a useful tool for residents and guests alike— the reason why the CVB has always referred to the publication as a Destination Guide rather than Visitor Guide.”

This year, four different cover images will be released each season to showcase the diverse offerings of Cabarrus County’s tourism industry. To celebrate the honor of being selected to host and commemorate the Mustang 50th Birthday Celebration this month, a 1966 Ford Mustang photographed in Concord appears on the first cover.

Inside, every page features a colorful layout with vivid images that directly reflect the vibrancy of the destination. The Mustang cover photo and select shots inside were captured by local photographer Michael Anderson. Last year, over 120,000 hard copies were distributed and the digital version was access over 3,300 times.

To request a Destination Guide, go to VisitCabarrus.com or contact a Travel Counselor at 1-800-848-3740. A digital version of the 2014-15 Guide will also become available online.

The Guide is also available at the Cabarrus County Visitor Information Center, at major Cabarrus attractions, participating restaurants and in all Cabarrus County hotels. If you would like to display the Destination Guide at your location, contact Gayle Love Lee at 704-456-7973 or Gayle@VisitCabarrus.com.
