(April 28, 2014) – Concord, NC — On April 10, three separate Cabarrus County entities with different missions came together to honor and recognize the outstanding contributions made by our area’s business and hospitality professionals over the last year. The event combined the Chamber Annual Meeting, the EDC Annual Awards and the CVB Golden Helmet Awards.

“Cabarrus County has made significant strides in infrastructure, business and tourism, all made possible by dedicated people who champion progress in Cabarrus County,” said Donna Carpenter, President/CEO of the Cabarrus County CVB. “Celebrate Cabarrus was created to recognize their hard work and achievements. They’re an inspiration to us all.”

As the nation prepares to celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week May 3 – 11, the Golden Helmet Awards are an opportunity to share the stories of those who continuously make memorable experiences for our visitors through exceptional customer service.

On May 7, Cabarrus County will celebrate the nation’s annual salute to tourism with a rally at Great Wolf Lodge Charlotte-Concord featuring North Carolina Secretary of Commerce Sharon Decker and destination research expert Berkeley Young. Contact Julie Hinson for more information on this event.
