November 22, 2017Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau Achieves Destination Marketing Accreditation
November 22, 2017(December 20, 2012) – Concord, NC – The Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau has once again been recognized for its marketing efforts. The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) will recognize the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau with a Gold Adrian Award for digital marketing excellence for its winning entry in the 56th annual Adrian Awards, the largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition globally. This marks the first time the Cabarrus CVB has ever received an award by the HSMAI.
The Cabarrus County CVB received the award for www.visitcabarrus.com, which was developed by MMGY Global. The CVB’s website was redesigned with added features to provide a user-friendly experience for visitors and local residents alike. The new site allows users to navigate easier and provides information for those interested in learning about Cabarrus County through photos, destination links and through the CVB’s social media lounge.
“It is an honor to receive the Gold Adrian Award from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International and one our staff is very proud of,” said Donna Carpenter, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Our Web Marketing Manager, Kathleen Temple, worked diligently with MMGY Global on creating a visually appealing site, making it easier to navigate and as a result, visitors are spending more time on the site to learn more about all of the fun things to see and do in Cabarrus County.”
This year’s contest attracted more than 1,100 entries from around the world, with entries judged by top executives from all sectors of the industry. On January 28, 2013, HSMAI will pay tribute to the Cabarrus CVB during the annual HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala, a black-tie affair attended by more than 1,000 hospitality, travel and tourism marketing executives at the New York Marriott Marquis.
“The bar is continuously set higher each year in regards to the quality of Adrian Awards submissions we receive,” said Fran Brasseux, HSMAI executive vice president. “This year’s winners in travel dvertising, public relations, and digital marketing exemplified marketing innovation that led to outstanding results, and demonstrated the power of marketing integration across all channels. We look forward to celebrating all this exceptional work with the industry and recognizing the remarkable winners at the Adrian Awards Gala.”
In addition to celebrating the Cabarrus CVB award-winning work, the Gala and dinner reception honors lifetime achievement, as well as the “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing.” All winning entries will be accessible in the Adrian Awards Winners Gallery online following the gala at www.adrianawards.com.
