NASCAR Driver Makes a Pit Stop at Cabarrus CVB

November 22, 2017(October 12, 2012) – Concord, NC – The Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau is proud to announce that a member of its leadership team is being recognized for his work in the tourism industry. The Southeast Tourism Society (STS) is honoring Mike Bonoffiski, Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Communications for the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau, as a member of the inaugural 2012 class of ‘Forty for the Future: Travel’s Leading Talent’ project. Forty for the Future was created to acknowledge sharp, talented professionals who are making their mark in the tourism industry.
“We are proud, but not surprised, that Mike has been recognized for the outstanding work he has done with our organization,” said Donna Carpenter, President & Chief Executive Officer for the Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “He is a vital part of our team and has taken our marketing and communications department with the CVB to a whole new level.”
“It is a great honor to receive this type of recognition from my peers and The Southeast Tourism Society,” said Bonoffski. “This award is not just about me, but the team of professionals we have here at the CVB that does an outstanding job of promoting Cabarrus County.”
Bonoffski joined the Cabarrus County CVB in 2009 after working in marketing and licensing in the motorsports industry. He started his career with Petty Enterprises (now Richard Petty Motorsports) in marketing and licensing. He then joined Mattel Toy Company-Hot Wheels Racing as Director of Marketing. Bonoffski is a 1996 graduate of Ithaca College where he received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Information & Communications and his Master of Science in Sport Management from West Virginia University in 1997.
He and the other Forty for the Future honorees will be recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society at its fall forum from October 31 – November 2 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
