Diners are invited to visit, taste, and vote for their favorite gourmet creation

CONCORD, N.C. (February 26, 2025) – Cabarrus County’s month-long Cabarrus Burger Madness returns for its fifth year March 1 – 31 with 20 local restaurants serving their spin on one of America’s classics. From nostalgic comfort food flavors to bold toppings stacked between two buns, these over-the-top burgers feature unique ingredients that come together for one euphoric bite.

“The amazing burger entries have evolved over the years, upping the wow factor with each competition,” said Donna Carpenter, Explore Cabarrus President and CEO. “With more participating restaurants than ever, Cabarrus Burger Madness 2025 gives foodies plenty of delicious new reasons to visit Cabarrus County in March. We encourage burger lovers from near and far to bring (or challenge!) a friend, try these limited-time burgers together, and discover all the wonderful experiences this destination has to offer along the way.”

Diners can view photos, read burger descriptions, and sign up for the free Cabarrus Burger Madness mobile pass at ExploreCabarrus.com/BurgerMadness. The pass lets participants track their tasty tour of Cabarrus County and unlock the ability to vote for their favorite burger by checking in at each location. Voting will be open from March 24-31 and is available exclusively through the Cabarrus Burger Madness mobile pass. Diners must check in at the restaurant to vote for their burger. A printed list of all participating restaurants can also be picked up at the Cabarrus County Visitor Information Center.

Among the contenders vying for votes and bragging rights as to who makes the best burger in Cabarrus are two returning champions, as well as seven restaurants participating for the first time.

  • Cabarrus Brewing Company: The Cabarrus Compagno
  • Crack of Dawn Diner: Spicy Jalapeno Burger
  • Garden Grille & Bar at Hilton Garden Inn: Beef Wellington Burger
  • Grounds & Vine: Korean Smokin’ Seoul Sliders
  • Jake’s, an R&R Bar-B-Que Restaurant: The BOB
  • Johnny Roger’s BBQ & Burgers: The Smokin’ Hash Burger
  • Lee’s Sandwich Shop: Beer and Bourbon Burger
  • Mt. Pleasant Smokehouse: Smoked Meatloaf Burger
  • Southern Strain Brewing Company: Bowl Pack Burger
  • The Smoke Pit: Smoked Velveeta Big-Burger
  • The Speedway Club: Fig and Blue Burger
  • Towel City Tavern: The Mill Stack
  • Union Street Cafe: Chorizo White Bean Burger
  • Vibez Bar & Grill: The Pork Belly Smokey Bacon Burger
  • Village Corner Comfort Kitchen & Bar: Southern Style Burger

Cabarrus Burger Madness began in 2021 as an effort to support local restaurants enduring impacts of the pandemic. Last year, the 18 participating local restaurants sold a combined total of almost 4,000 burgers, and the program saw participants from nine different states with one diner checking in at all 18 locations!
