CONCORD, N.C. (July 31, 2025) – The 2025 Coca-Cola 600 Weekend has been nominated by the readers of SportsTravel and is a finalist for a 2025 SportsTravel Award in the category of Best Professional Sports Event.

The SportsTravel Awards honor the best events, venues and hosts in the sports-event industry, and Memorial Day weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord provides fans with one of the biggest spectacles in motorsports. This year’s Coca-Cola 600 weekend, May 23-25, 2025, featured four thrilling races, high-energy concerts and military salutes across three action-packed days providing those in attendance with the ultimate mix of excitement and entertainment.

“This event and everyone who works so hard behind the scenes to make it a success year after year are incredibly worthy of this recognition,” said Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau President and CEO Donna Carpenter. “As home of the Coca-Cola 600, we’re beyond proud to see it among the amazing nominees for Best Professional Sports Event. We encourage everyone to cast their votes and plan to experience this outstanding event firsthand in May 2026.”

The Coca-Cola 600 sold out for the fourth consecutive year in 2025 and the capacity crowd for the 66th running of the historic race included fans from all 50 states and 12 foreign countries, as far away as Australia, Brazil and Switzerland. More than a test of endurance, this event is a Memorial Day tradition that honors the true heroes of the United States Armed Forces. Drivers carried the names of fallen service members on their windshields, and fans witnessed breathtaking military tributes, including aerial flyovers and a moving moment of silence at the race’s halfway point.

“The Coca-Cola 600 is more than just a crown jewel event within motorsports; it’s a can’t-miss spectacle in all of sports,” said Speedway Motorsports President and CEO Marcus Smith. “From driver autograph sessions, interactive partner displays and concerts to patriotic military tributes and on-track action, the Coca-Cola 600 is a testament to the hard work of a talented speedway team dedicated to elevating the fan experience and creating remarkable events.”

Voting is open now through Friday, August 22, 2025.
