(April 16, 2009) – Cabarrus, NC – The Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CCVB) has launched a new program – the GreenFlagCard – that offers discounts for visitors at local restaurants, stores and attractions. There is no cost for local businesses to participate in the program, and they can submit their discounts online at www.GreenFlagCard.com.

“Visitors today are value conscious. We want them to enjoy our destination fully in spite of the economy,” notes DeSales Wagster, President and CEO of the Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The GreenFlagCard makes vacationing in Cabarrus County more affordable. We hope it encourages visitors to come here, stay longer and do more while they are here. In addition, the GreenFlagCard program is also an opportunity for local businesses to introduce themselves to visitors.”

By presenting the GreenFlagCard to participating businesses, visitors are entitled to discounted merchandise, dining, services and admission to attractions. GreenFlagCards, together with lists of current offers, will be available to visitors at hotels and at conventions, meetings and youth sports events. The GreenFlagCard is available to members of the military at regional military bases as part of the CCVB’s military marketing program. Through the GreenFlagCard program, local businesses can offer special discounts exclusive to members of the military, as well.
