Cabarrus Arena & Events Center Earns Third Prime Site Award

(April 4, 2009) – Concord, NC – The Cabarrus Arena & Events Center has once again been recognized for venue excellence by winning the Prime Site Award for the 3rd consecutive year.

Voted on by booking agents, promoters, talent buyers and special event planners, the annual Prime Site Awards presented by The Facilities Media Group acknowledge genuine achievement in venue management. The Prime Site Awards recognize excellence in arenas, stadiums, theatres, performing arts centers and other venues that present a wide range of events, including concerts, family shows, theatrical shows, performances, sporting events, exhibitions and other consumer/trade events. The announcement was made in the group’s publication, The Facilities SuperBook.

In winning the award this year, the center is in the company of such notable facilities as the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Madison Square Garden in New York, and the RBC Center in Raleigh.

Facilities associate publisher, Michael Caffin, explained, “With few exceptions, the Prime Site venues improved their buildings and enhanced the audience experience in the past year and are already implementing new renovations for the year ahead. In the case of management and personnel dedicated to doing their best so their venue can be the best.

During the past 3 years, the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center and its managing partner SMG have made great strides in helping to establish Cabarrus County as a favored destination. In 2008-2009, the Cabarrus Arena & Events center had notable increases in all of the event areas including concerts, family shows, banquets and sporting events. A number of capital improvements have been accomplished and marketing efforts have been revved up with the Cabarrus Arena Insider Club program and a brand new website at www.CabarrusArena.com.
