New staff join tourism team at Cabarrus County CVB

(August 25, 2014) – Concord, NC — John Mills was selected as the winner of the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2014 CFO of the Year award in the category of small – midsized nonprofit or government organization.
Mills is the longest employed team member of the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau and has led the organization through milestones such as establishing the Bureau as an independent 501(c)6, relocating the offices and visitor center, and achieving accreditation through Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI), the global trade association for official destination marketing organizations.
“Since joining the Bureau, John has dedicated himself to the development of the organization, our staff and this destination,” said Donna Carpenter, President/CEO of the Cabarrus County CVB. “He’s been instrumental to the advancement of the tourism industry in Cabarrus County and we’re so fortunate and honored to have him as a part of our Leadership Team.”
