CONCORD, NC (August 27, 2018) – Visit North Carolina recently announced that domestic visitors to and within Cabarrus County spent $446.84 million in 2017. Cabarrus County ranks 12th in travel impact among North Carolina’s 100 counties.

“A steady rise in visitor spending also means growth of the many benefits that travel brings including a special sense of pride in sharing the place we call home,” said Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau President and CEO Donna Carpenter.

Cabarrus County’s hospitality industry continues to thrive with diverse offerings and a healthy mix of leisure, individual corporate, and group travelers. In addition to providing information for these visitors, the Cabarrus County CVB inspires travel through storytelling. Campaigns like “People of Cabarrus” create connections with the local community as demonstrated through the award-winning 2018-19 Destination & Motorsports Guide.

“Tourism has a positive effect on the quality of life of our citizens,” said Pam DuBois, Chair of the Cabarrus County CVB Board of Directors. “By attracting visitors to our community, additional revenues are generated which aid in funding services and infrastructure that enhance the overall experience in the community.”
