(May 16, 2013) – The Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau invites race fans to the Visitor Information Center for a meet and greet with Class of 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee Leonard Wood.

Leonard Wood is a former crew chief and engine builder for Wood Brothers Racing, the oldest continuously operating NASCAR Sprint Cup team dating back to 1950. As a mastermind of pit road technology, Leonard is responsible for the team’s reputation as the innovator of the modern pit stop. With older brother Glen and an array of NASCAR stars behind the wheel, Leonard achieved 96 wins, 117 poles and 990 starts throughout his career in racing.

WHAT
As the “Ten Greatest Days in Racing” kick off at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Cabarrus CVB will host an autograph session giving fans the opportunity to meet a legend in NASCAR history. Refreshments will be available free of charge, and fans in attendance will also receive a complimentary souvenir!
