CONCORD (August 17, 2018) – The Cabarrus County, NC Destination & Motorsports Guide was honored with Destiny Awards for Printed Collateral Materials and People’s Choice during U.S. Travel Association’s 35th annual ESTO conference (the Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations).

The Destiny Awards recognize U.S. Travel member organizations for excellence and creative accomplishment in destination marketing on the local and regional level and for inspiring the continued development of imaginative promotional programs.

“We’re so proud to represent Cabarrus County and all of the tourism partners who inspire us to tell the destination’s story in creative ways,” said Cabarrus County CVB President and CEO, Donna Carpenter. “Sharing their personalized videos through the guide covers creates an instant connection with visitors, and we look forward to reinventing the guide each year to do just that.”

The guide was recognized for an interesting structure that highlights distinct local personas and successful digital integration which engages users to view print through an app.

Produced annually by the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Destination Guide is the official travel resource for Cabarrus County. This year, four covers incorporate augmented reality technology to highlight the “People of Cabarrus” who aid visitors in making memories—Thrill Seekers, Foodies, Creators and Taste Makers.

Users can access exclusive videos and “meet the crews” of Cabarrus County by following these three steps:

  1. Download the free Visit Cabarrus app in the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Hover your device over the faces of each person pictured on the front and inside cover.
  3. Follow the prompts on screen for an all-new, enhanced experience!

To request a guide, go to VisitCabarrus.com or stop by the Cabarrus County Visitor Center. The guide is also available at participating restaurants and attractions and all hotels in Cabarrus County. To offer the guide at your location, contact Amber Levi at 704-456-7974.
